The Cost of Buying/Selling a House

solicitors fees for buying a house

What are the fees associated with the selling or buying of a house in Ireland?

We know that buying or selling a house is both an exciting time and a stressful time in your life. With all of various decisions you need to make, your choice of solicitor shouldn’t be a stressful one. Traditionally, in order to get an idea of the most competitive price for the purchase or sale of your house, you needed to ring around all the solicitors in the locality and compare the quotes received.

At O’Kelly Solicitors, we decided to keep it simple. One price for one conveyance – residential property, either buying or selling. No ifs, buts or maybes. We don’t do “starting from…” prices, the fee below is the fee you will pay on the successful sale or purchase of your property.

We are dedicated to providing clear & transparent pricing on the costs associated with the sale or purchase of your property. That said, your should not associate our low cost pricing with a low cost service. We are able to provide such a low price as we are always analysing our business to keep our overheads down so that we can pass on the savings we make to you, the client.

This is why we offer the most competitive price in Dublin.

If you are unsure of the steps involved in purchasing your new home, we have set out the legal steps involved in our blog here. We always believe that knowledge is power so we aim to keep you informed every step of the way.

We have also set out a number of practical pointers for persons selling their home to ensure that your sale goes as smoothly as possible. Al the details can be found here.

We frequently act in negative equity sales, liaising with Banks during the sales process and crystallising losses prior to clients using the new range of options available under the new insolvency regime. Please see our blog post on the subject here.

Our fixed fee quote, and your expected outlays, are set out below. Items marked with a (*) are fees payable to third parties and are subject to change but are correct as of todays date. As always, we are here to help and if there is any aspect of the fee structure that you have questions about, please contact us here.
